Detectives de las Heras was founded in Barcelona in 1981 by the former Chief Commissioner of the Superior Police Force, Mr. Ramiro de las Heras, and Mrs. Mª. Isabel Castellví (assistant detective).

Thanks to the professional experience of the former and the tenacity and sacrifice of the latter, «good results were not long in coming,» without the need for advertising at any time.

Soon after, their children graduated in «private investigation,» Isabel (License No. 281), Ramiro (license 416), and Ignacio (license 1154).

Ignacio del las Heras started as an «assistant detective,» and over the years, he specialized in corporate, family, law firms, etc., investigations.

• Four years later, in June 2010, again the results were not long in coming, and in June 2010, his worth and professional integrity were recognized again, granting him «the second Honorary Mention Type A,» by the then Chief Superior of Police of Catalonia, Hon. Mr. Narciso Ortega Oliva, in recognition of collaboration with the Forces of Order and State Security.

Little by little, what was a family business became another one of national scope, maintaining the principles and values that had been present since its foundation: honor, sacrifice, seriousness, professionalism. Values that continue to shape the backbone of Detectives de las Heras, Detectives in Barcelona today.   

In June 2012 and in 2016, Ignacio de las Heras was awarded twice more, by the then Hon. Chief Superior of Police of Catalonia, Mr. Jesús Fernández Garrido, and Mr. Sebastián Trapote Gutiérrez.
